  nickname was "Bub". Had 2 wives, Maggie Hughes, Sarah [Sadie] E. Croskrey. He was a carpenter. He lived in Fox Lake, moved to Verndale, MN and in 1892 returned to Fox Lake. Was a heavy drinker, which ruined his home and his health. Died of cancer of liver and is buried at Fox Lake, WI. He had 11 children. March 17, 1908 the four boys were placed in the Sparta State School. Their individual pages show placement in other homes.
